Dr. DeSantis had a long standing career as an emergency and trauma registered nurse until attaining a doctorate in clinical psychology from Adelphi University in 2004. She established the practice in 2006 to focus on both clinical and forensic areas. In the clinical realm she specializes in mood disorders, relationship problems, couples counseling, post-traumatic stress, personality disorders, stressors unique to law enforcement personnel, addictions of all types, and sexual issues. On the forensic side, her specialty is in all types of criminal behavior, profiling, psychological assessments, holds certifications in various testing and risk assessment measures, and conducts psychosexual evaluations. The treatment she provides is eclectic based where various approaches are used that are solely dependent on the client's individual needs and ability to achieve a positive outcome. Dr. DeSantis selects the staff carefully and they all believe that people deserve to be treated without judgment no matter what their past or current issues are. "People are not neatly fit into textbook theory or neatly into pre-constructed boxes. Every person is unique and one person's needs and issues are not the same as someone else's."

Michael joined the practice in 2016 as a clinical intern, clinician's assistant, and an administrative assistant to the Director. His outstanding administrative and clinical abilities led to the appointment of Assistant Director. In May 2018, Michael achieved a degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He also holds an Advanced Certificate in Victimology Studies. From his years of training with the practice, Michael specializes in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, all types of addictions, and sexual issues. Michael creates a non-judgmental therapeutic relationship and uses evidence-based approaches during sessions to help his clients gain insight toward their negative thought and behavior patterns and how to promote positive change to achieve a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

John received his Mental Health Counseling Degree from Adelphi University and he is also a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). John joined the practice part-time in 2011. He has many years of experience working with all aspects of psychological distress, mood disorders, anxiety, relationships, domestic violence, addictions, and the criminal and sex offender population. He assists clients to gain insight toward how stressors interact with the environment, personality, and behavior. Through achieving this understanding clients are able to implement the necessary tools to minimize symptoms and/or addictive behaviors. John believes that the effective therapy stems from a trusting relationship between the therapist and client and the clinical approach taken is dictated by each individual’s need

Christina’s approach to treatment is using research based Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to assist clients who are motivated to reach goals for positive change. She believes that when a client enters treatment they are functioning at the highest level possible at that moment and through effective therapy the client will make consistent positive progress until their ultimate goals are achieved.

This treatment modality is effective for clients to gain insight into their thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors. Through this accomplishment clients have a high success rate in promoting positive change, positive growth, and reaching their personalized goals.

She believes that there is no room for "cookie cutter" counseling if positive progress and effective change are to be achieved. Her sessions are tailored to the client's goals and needs to promote healing and insight to individuals who are experiencing feeling overwhelmed by situations, experiences, or day to day stressors.

He believes that self-determination empowers his clients to explore behavioral patterns and identify maladaptive coping strategies and replace them with positive and healthy lifestyle choices. Ronald uses a blend of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Psychodynamic theory, Insight Oriented Therapy, and Strengths- Based Therapy and Supportive Therapy.
